NICK MARANDOLA

Nick Marandola is a proud native son of Vermont, and his love for art started more or less at birth.  He grew up sketching, and excelled throughout high school, but it wasn't until college that he was first exposed to digital design and illustration software. He hated it. “Profoundly,” as he puts it, feeling that it lacked humanity and art.  Dismissing the digital crowd as “button clickers,” Nick continued to hone his detailed handwork, learning to be precise, flexible and efficient. As the years went by, though, he gradually started to experiment with computers again.  What started as occasional dabbling quickly evolved into Marandola's current style, which he calls “Illustrative Design.”

Although his work is perfectly polished and professional, Nick Marandola is still making art by hand.  He uses a scanner and Adobe Illustrator for his finishing process, but he remains focused on hand-crafting the best illustrations he can.

Endless late nights have since grown into his business, Mohawk Design Studio, which combines his love for punk music with a visual style that represents it beautifully.
